lazy remote key entry

Hi -

How do I enhance the performance of the remote? *it's not the battery*

Our car came with two remotes and after a while one of the remotes didn't work as well. We have now lost the good one, and I was wondering if there is anyway to enhance the performance of this other one which doesn't work very well. I changed the batteries and still have to come very close to the car and push the buttom a couple of times for it to work.

Thanks for your help.

If it's not the battery, get a new remote then.

If you're an electronic whiz, you could try to get a higher power transmitter or increase the antenna length somehow.

Or just open your car 6 feet from it. Why open it a mile away, you still have to walk to it.

Or put it up against the bottom edge of your chin with the buttons facing your throat, and push the key.

Thank you for writing. Since joining this group, I am not sure when people are kidding or when they are serious

This isn't really related to the previous comment, but I don't think it merits a whole thread... my remote hasn't ever worked since I got my car 3 weeks ago. I just checked the voltage on the battery, and it read 2.6 volts. Is that low enough below 3 volts to make it not work?

I've tried reseting the remote, pulling the plugs on the keyless box, and I even took it to the dealer, and they couldn't do it. Any thoughts?

Although I was looking for a straight answer, something more meaningful than get a new one, I guess this has to do for now.
