I have a slight vibration under acceleration. I juat had an alignment and wheel balance done this morning (changed springs again this past weekend to sprints) Im wondering if the rear section of my exhaust is rubbing the rear suspension under acceleration... It doesnt do it if i coast...or vibrate if im sitting in neutral and bring the rpms up to where it does when accelerating....I dont think it does it at all going around a roundabout(have to try again) .....which is a good sign. Not doing it at idle is good too....no warped crank or anything...but i suppose the vibration would be hellacious then! Im suspecting the fly wheel maybe warped....I hope not. I will be getting a new clutch in the future...still on stock one. If so i'll have the flywheel resurfaced then. Maybe i didnt tighten the top strut bearing nuts all the way?

Any inputs?

Does this happen under hard acceleration? If so then that sounds like wheel hop to me. I get that all the time under WOT in 1st and 2nd. A way to get rid of that, I hear, is to get the PR motor mounts. Another way is to ease your throttle and slip the clutch in 1st and 2nd (you won't go as fast). Any more questions just post.

Hmmmm, a slight vibration. So you mean like in the steering wheel? I can talk to one of the techs for ya tomorrow if you'd like. I work over at the Nissan Dealer in Turnersville so I can get back to you around 4 or 5 with an answer.

 

I cant pinpoint it, its driving me nuts. I'm going to re-torque everything as well

You know it could be your tire tread.

 

Naaah they are brand new Kumho's....

 

Are they rubbing against anything?

Not that i can tell....i looked and didnt see any rub marks on the tires.....or struts.....

 

I just searched my trusty Haynes....one possible cause of my "vibration under acceleration" could be incorrect height

Anyone else w/sprints have this prob?

It might just be your springs. Talked to the tech and he had now idea accept to try rotating your tires. I also looked for any similar senarios on the computer there (they have a database of different problems owners experienced with their cars) and came up empty. So it must be due to something aftermarket. Sorry I could find anything but I hope this aids you in finding the real problem.

 

Maybe its just my exhaust rubbing........no one else with sprints has this problem.
