Our VQ Engines have "VTEC" ?
#41
The only Nissan Maxima engines to have VTC is the 92-94 VE30DE se and the 2k2 3.5VQ(but this engine has a much better version than the VE30DE vtc) ie.. continious vs on/off.

I've also driven a VTEC GSR 5 speed. Me and the owner of the GSR always joke about how it has no torque down low. On city streets, its asleep, but once on the highway, 3rd gear and beyond really take off. It's like a totally different car.
Oh, and put the AC on, OHMYGOD, that little bit of torque down low completely vanishes.
The Nissan Sentra SER is reputed to have the most low down torque of any of the high power 4 bangers, RSX-S included.
As for the S2000, it's the most hp per liter, an incredible feat, thanks mostly due to Honda's VTEC, but down low torque is nothing to write home about. It's fine if you are ALWAYS in speed racer mode. And that 8500 rpm redline is absolutely insane! I remember in the GSR it took me a while to get used to the range in rpms
