If you mean tightness as in how hard it is to turn the wheel then there is nothing you can do about it. Thats all in the power steering and there is no adjustment.

A Front Strut Tower Brace will help out quite a bit. You can get them fairly cheap as well. Other than that, the Maxima's stock suspension is nothing special, especially with a GLE

I guess you can learn to deal with it. OR,

you can buy ES polyurethane bushings for the front sway bar, control arms, and endlinks. That drastically changes the feel of the wheel. It increases it's "weight." You'll get vibrations though, so it's a trade-off.

Yes ES bushing will help. Go to suspension.com. I got mine there. Don't forget to grease them or they will squeek.

Another thing to check is your aligment. To much toe out loose on center feel but better in turns. To much toe in better on center feel but the car will feel like it is plowing around curves.

Check your tie rods. Does the car feel loose?

i went on suspension.com and only saw bushings for the fsb and for control arms. where are the endlinks? these things are cheap, but are they worth it? i already get a lot of vibration through the steering wheel. will this make the steering feel more solid? im kinda confused as to what they do to the car. would you recomend them? how much would installation be? thanks a lot.

That explains alot.

I just installed ES bushings with my AGX/B&G combo, and I noticed my steering felt slightly stiffer. I thought maybe something something was wrong, but now this makes total sense.

95maxrider,

Endlink are not so car specific. When I called Bruce (I think that was his name) knew what I wanted. Anyway I have the endlinks and swaybar bushing and would say that the are definity worth it.

The control arm bushing are where you get vibration transfer from the suspension to the steering wheel. How much on a max I do not know as I do not have them.

thanks for the clarification. how much do the endlinks cost? are there any negative aspects to having endlinks and swaybar bushings?

I go mine a couple of years ago and both were under $20. As for neg....hummm...the only thing I can think of is that the swaybar bushing will squeek if you don't grease them. Make sure you use waterproof grease. Bushing should come with the grease. If you want extra get water proof trailer grease from a marine supply much cheaper then ES.

Energy Suspension bushings. They are made of polyurethane instead of rubber so then are stiffer and flex less.

For the maxima there are:
- Front sway bar bushings
- endlink bushings (ends of the sway bar)
- Control arm bushings
