well i searched on this and found a whole lot about taking the vinyl door pillar stickers off, but not much on reapplying a new set of stickers. mine are faded and i was going to get new ones from the factory. do the "stickers" have their own adhesive, where you simply pull off a paper backing and apply? or do you have to buy separate adhesive? do you have to prep the area before you put them on? are there any special precautions i should take? thanks for any info

Does the finish look bad under there? i am about to remove it on my 96 and don't want it to look all silly.

actually the finish is perfect, even clear coated. It's jsut that with my tints, I think it kinda looks weird.

what do you think?

I would just go to your local sign shop. They have vinyle strips that are rated for outdoor and can last up to 10 years. I think some CF pattern ones would look cool.

Almost all vinyl film that consumers can get has adhesive on the back. Sign shops should have something that will work, but I would caution that you stay away from "calendered" films. Calendered films tend to shrink due to the way they are manufactured. Some are better than others, just make sure they sell you a high performance film. The best is "cast" film. It hardly shrinks. You should be able to buy a couple of feet and apply it yourself. The hardest part is to get the vinyl under the small black perimeter seal. I'm including a link to a website that demonstrates how to apply a vinyl graphic. Hope this helps.
