dead alternator

well my alternator died last night and since my car is one of the 97s with the alternator being recalled the good people over at the nissan dealer said they are gonna put a new one in but when i asked how much the guy said free unless its been messed with to quote " itll be free unless its been modded and its all pimp-daddied out" i told him it isnt chipped but i didnt tell em i have a cone filter should i put the stock filter box in (i kinda messed it up when i took it out) or will they do it with the cone?

I would go ahead and put the stock intake back in just to be on the safe side.

An intake doesn't really have squat to do with an alternator failing. If he tries to deny you a free replacement alternator and you are covered by the recall, then you better give him ****.

dont worry a intake wont stop Nissan from replacing your alternator. The only thing I can think of that we might be bithc about is having too many lead on the battery or such things as that. I was going to change mine myself but I will have another guy do it for me, why do it yourself if you can have a fellow co worker do it for you
