Help with power steering belts

Help with power steering belts

I tried to install new belts on my 95 max and when i tried to loosen the tension on the power steering belt, the screw that i was turning broke. How do i fix this problem the belt seems still tight between the pump and the crankshaft pulley. How do i loosening the power steering belt tension. ANy one know the part number to the piece i broke off?

I have no idea what the part number of it is.

To loosen the power steering belt, you first have to loosen the bolt on the assembly that moves the whole pump up and down. Then you have to get under the car and loosen one of the bolts the power steering pump pivots on, the trick is you do this from behind the pump, more towards the middle of the car. Then, staying under the car, there is the adjustment bolt that pulls the whole pump assembly up, releasing tension from the belt. You have to turn this bolt to the right to remove tension, it's backwards from what you'd normally think.

I hope this helps a little. It's very hard to explain without pictures. Maybe someone else has some to post, the manuals are pretty much worthless in this regard.
