The other day I noticed when I started my car, my O/D light was flashing. It usually just comes on for a second and goes of with the other idiot lights. Has this happed to anyone else? Does it mean anything?

Overdrive

As far as I can tell, the wiring diagram for the light shows that it goes to the Automatic Transmission control unit located underneath the ashtray. Do any stereo or other type of work in this area? Does the transmission go into overdrive and/or shift normally?

O/D light flashing usually means there is
something wrong with the transmission.
similar to the check engine light. I believe
the O/D light also flashes out codes, to tell
you what's wrong with trans. I would get it
checked out.

hmmm

If it only came on that one time, I think the cars computer detected a fault with the automatic transmission when it started up. But perhaps it was not actually a problem and now your car doesn't see it anymore?

If it happens again, go get it checked out
otherwise ask them to take a look at your next oil change or whatever.

Turns out you are correct about this. In the FSM starting on page AT-46 it gives directions on how to do this. I would write it up but 4 pages and if I had a Scanner I could do this but alas I do not. Sorry
