How do I know if I have the Bose system in my 98' GXE? My stereo looks exactly like this, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1859261010 , only it does not say Bose on the tape deck flap thing. Does that mean it is probably a Bose?
Also if it were a Bose system would the speakers say Bose on them? I've fot four speakers, and then the two tweeters above the speakers on the door, and nothing says Bose on it.

If your tape "flap" or rear speakers do not say Bose you probably have the "premium" sound system. This means that you probably have the double-din tape/cd player, but you have 6.5" component speakers in the front doors, and 6.5" speakers in the rear NOT 6x9 like a Bose system
Be happy
The bose sux. On my 2nd "Bose" HU....a 97 one. It skips when I run over a drop of water and frequently tells me cd err.....
At least with out bose you dont have to buy a $30+ adapter to use your stock shi**y speakers.
Replace it all.........I am eventually. Nitrous comes first........by then the HU I want should be below 250.
And nissan charges more for this.......its a racket....they probably earn a 75% cut from all the "Bose Repair" specialists.
