Maybe not. My friend got a 108 in a 55 (NY). He still has is license, but no car anymore. He couldn't afford $900/month insurance payments.

Maybe you can get the ticketing officer to reduce it?

Good luck!

If you live in a big city I suggest you fight it... I used to live in Houston, and I fought every ticket I got and each and every case was dismissed due to the officer not showing up for court.

Try to get the date pushed back as far as you can so it will be more likely for the cop to forget too.

That would cost $370 here in MA and then you would STILL get screwed on insurance.

Damn!!

72 in a 45 cost me about $400 in VA. Reckless driving but luckily VA is known for screwing up paper work and not reporting it to your home residency. I have a N.Y. license

I got caught doing 110 in a 65...

A new Volvo S60 and I were following each other on a saturday afternoon on the highway. Nobody around. We passed a Chevy S-10 pickup and the bastard was an unmarked. He got me.

I've noticed if you admit you've done something wrong and be appologetic it always helps. I got yelled at pretty good and was told if I get caught doing 66 on this highway again, he would write me a ticket.

Someone was looking out for me that day...

I've heard that you just plead guilty and send in a check for 3 or so more dollars than the fine. Then they have to send you a check back. When you get that check, rip it up. If it is never cashed the file remains open and cannot progress. No points and no reporting. Never tried it. It's just what I heard so take it for what its worth.

That doesn't work. They just take the extra money and say it was a donation, and finish the paperwork. I tried it.

I've never understood that. How is pleading no contest that much different from pleading guilty?
