Blue LEDS in switches

I've wanted for the longest times to do the LEDs in the window switches, but like a lot of people out there, I'm not that comfortable with the circuit boards and resistors and so on. Is there anywhere I can go to find a simple yet thorough explanation of hwo to do this mod? LEDs for dummies with Maximas would be awesome, thanks guys

I have done mine with great success, if you like I can do yours for $40 bucks + parts and shipping. You can ship me the circuits (everything will still work except your windows won't roll down and keyless entry might now work during the time the circuit is out) I'll have it done in a couple hours and send it back to you, just let me know what is the year of your max (it matters on the type of bulbs).

P.S. I take responsibility for my work, if I mess up (i'll give you my circuit board)

let me know

I think the LED's are two or three dollars each from radioshack. you will 6 for the front door, and 3 for the other doors, for a total of 9, order you can order them online for less (about 1.50 each) you're looking at around $20 for parts, mailing the circuit boards to me should be $5, mailing them back to you should be another $5, with the labor, this gives you a grand total of about $70. Although this may seem steep, it beats doing it yourself if you don't know what you're doing. Let me know.

I am very interesting of doing this project so i would like to know what is the name or number of the LED's so i can look it up at radioshack or if they sell it at autozone. Also if u have an instruction of how to do it that would be nice.

These are the proper LEDs to use, they're the same size and voltage as the stock ones so you won't have to do any trimming or modifications to the housings and they're less than $1 each.

I would recommend against shipping off your switches, when the switch assemblys are out you won't be able to lock your car from the remote, roll down the windows, etc; you're better off just ordering the LEDs and doing it yourself.

those should work for the fronts. just make sure to get the plarity right. led's work one way only. as for the tiny led's in cell phones, i got them from my friend who works at a cell phone shop. you can try one of those places that sell all those blinking batteries and stuff. same led's. otherwise, i think there was an earlier post that discussed this and someone else did post a link to where you can get the small led's or at least a part number or something.

good luck.
