I have 1 broken stud and possibly one cross thread stud all on one wheel. Should I be worried? How do you know when your wheel is about to fly off????? Will I have time to stop? hope so.....

I broke a wheel stud a week ago, and have put on over 500 miles since. I'm waiting on my slow *** Nissan dealership to get my new gas filler door back, so I figure I'll get the new stud/lug nut when I pick it up.

I don't know about running with 2 broken studs. Why not take a trip to the dealership and get new ones? They're only a couple of bucks a piece (~$3).

Better safe than sorry, you might as well pick up the studs and put them on when you can. With two studs having issues, you may begin to have problems with the other three. Same thing happened to me with two studs. Road home from the dealership after they tried to charge me like 80 bucks to fix it an looks like the ride back, bent two of the last three good ones.

PepBoys/Autozone carries our studs for less than a dollar a piece. I just broke two, I am replacing them tomorrow. I would not drive your car a lot until you do get the two studs. If you broke the two studs right next to each other, do not drive on it. But if you broke one opposite from the other, than you should be OK to drive a little. But because of two studs being broken, you may chew up your rim.

You will hear loud clunking sounds and feel crazy vibrations when your wheels are loose enough to fall off. I decided to try the stock lugnuts on my tantrums last year and within a week, I had to pull over and tighten them because they were finger loose. Stoooopid.

just go to nissan and get a few new studs. they're about 2 bucks each and are easy to replace. just take off wheel and i think the brake calliper and disk and hit the stud through. just pound it in with a hammer and it will come out. put the new one in and pull it tight with the lugnut. easy to do.

I don't even think you need to take anything off (except for the wheel of course).

No, you need to take the caliper and rotor off to bang the studs out.
