Corner bulbs in tailights of max...

What exactly do the corner bulbs in the tailights of the maxima do? I think they are the M4 bulbs. I have tried to get them to light up every possible way but the won't. I think the owner's manual calls them a combination light.

Thanks,
bluemaxdriver4

The corner bulbs on the tailights don't do anything. you don't even need them. Some people actually think it looks better w/out. they are the wedge bulbs, i think 194 or 168, i can't remember exactly

theyre 194s and they only light up when you have your lights on. if they dont turn them the opposite way.

Alright, Back from the grave.
I don't understand...what do they do, when do they work, I have a 98 Ahhhh!
I just put new tails and the drivers side (wedge) bulb was on nonstop ans the passenger one was not when the key was @ 1/2 turn.
I am confused.

they come on when you click one or two.
theyre rear sidemarkers. its not confusing.
the 5th gen has the front orange and rear red markers. we have the same thing except ours are incorporated into the front lens and the rear tail cluster.

Man, this is confusing.
I'll ask it this way.

Are people's wedge bulbs on all the time when lights are on?

I didn't even notice they were there on my 96 (brake lights below turn signal) until one bunrt out. It looks so much better to have the brake/tails the same color as the rear corner lights - gotta love 95/96 tails!

And yes they're on all the time with the rest of the lights.

Enjoy the snow guys!
