Almost Smoked

I don't know what to say, my confidence is shaken. On my way to work this morning about 6:50 or so I say this green Toyota Tacoma coming off the freeway exit ramp at a high rate of speed. He came to the light with me pulling up next to him. At the green he gunned it, a split second later so did I, he proceeded to pull away but luckily the shift range range in that thing is not as high as our max's. I caught him when he shifted, but lost him again when I shifted into 2nd(my damn wheels slipped). I did catch up to him as I started to whined out 2nd but unfortuantly there was not enough road to smoke him like I know i could have. I guess I just wanted to vent my near emberassment to other max folks. I think the combination of high torque and low weight on these trucks make them dangerous at low speeds. See Ya.

I have a Tacoma V6 4x4 5sp. It's a fast truck..but only up to about 50MPH. If you see a V6 badge and the TRD decal, that means the truck has lower gearing and will jump off the line pretty quick. The truck you ran with might have been a supercharged one...now those are fast. I'm not sure what kind of times the S/C tacomas get, but I know some guys that push about 300 hp. Tacomas kick **** off road.
Too bad Nissan doesn't sell a decent truck. At least they have the Maxima and Skyline. =)
