Screw for front license plate bracket... anyone have any idea what size?
I had to go and buy a front license plate bracket from Nissan today, because my car didn't come with one when I bought it. Nice how it works out for them... probably costs them $1 to make, and they charged me $36 for it. It's just a dumb piece of plastic.
ANYways...
OF COURSE they don't even give you screws with it. Because that would be helpful of them. You're on your own for that part. So, I found some screws to attach it to the car, but I can't find any screws to attach the license plate into the bracket. I took a screw out of the back license plate and took it to the hardware store, and they gave me two identical screws. Well, of course the front screws are not the same size as the back screws, so they just pulled right out.
Does anyone have any idea what size the screws are supposed to be for that front bracket to hold the license plate to the bracket? I don't expect anyone to just know off the top of their head, but maybe someone has had this problem before...

Good question.
I need the bolts that attach the bracket to the car and the ones that attach the plate to the bracket.
I'm guessing that they're a standard size so I'm just going to ask at the hardware store.

As for the screws for attaching the plate to to bracket, I had to take the bracket off of the car and take it into the hardware store with me and try a few different screws until I found one that fit right. Make sure you get it long enough, or once the license plate is on there it'll almost tighten and then pop out again.

Most auto parts stores sell the screws. I think theyy're a standard size, unless you get a custom bracket or something.
When I had to changed my license plate the first time, my screws were all rusted shut. I bought some plastic ones for a couple of bucks at the local auto parts store and it made changing the license plate the second time a whole lot easier.

On my front license plate bracket, there are rectangular slots for metal clips with bolt holes in them. You should be able to get the clips and bolts at a dealership. Of course, IMHO, they should come with the bracket, but it's another chance for them to make money. You can probably find them cheaper at Home Depot or Lowe's.
