Windshield Replacment
I have had my windshield busted! bummer! what is the average cost for a 4th gen windshield replacement? I'm just trying to figure out how much this is going to set me back, as I'm on the list for the leather seats group purchase.....and need to order ASAP. I'm hoping that it's covered under my insurance, however I just got the car and it's not "officially" covered yet. It is covered (I asked when I called them to let them know I bought it) because of the fact that if I buy a car they will cover it until all the details are worked out.....they do know I have the car, as I called them at date of purchase and told them and I just have not gone by to fill out all the nessessary paperwork.....so maybe they will cover it. I just am curious as to how much I'll have to pay if I don't want to make a claim (and make my rates go up)
Thanks

I paid $175 installed, at my office on my '95 (about 3 years ago).
There's a game you have to play. This is just one version of the game just to give you an idea.
Call every windshield place in the yellow pages and write down each of their quotes. Just to speed things up, tell them you are paying for it (not insurance).
Make note of the lowest quote and start calling back the places with the higher quotes. Tell them you found a lower price, and who quoted you that price.
Amazing how quickly the price will fall when you get them competeing.
I did this a couple of months ago for my '99 Tahoe as well. Price started at $600 and before it was over I had the lowest bidder down to $256.
