Stereo Question
Hey,
When I bought this Max,(97 not an SE but has the older SE wheels) it had an aftermarket stereo in it,(Denon...looks OLD tho...) I have not looked to see if it was done right, with an adapter or if the fool just cut off the factory harness and spliced into the wires. If that is what he did, I need to have the wiring diagram so I can put the factory harness back in and then buy adapters to plug into the factory harness.(where can I find this info?) I want to replace whats in there and want to get a double din unit (so it looks smooth, instead of this thing that is in there now that sticks out about 3/8ths of an inch) This car does not have the factory bose and I'm not an audiofile so I'm wanting something that sounds good that does not cost an arm and a leg. I looked at Crutchfield and they have a JVC double din unit(CD and Cass.w/AM/FM...will not play MP3, but does have an input jack for an MP3 player) with a steering wheel remote for $249.00 and if you buy 2 sets of speakers they will discount the whole package $50.00 bucks. I found some Kenwood 1738C 6 3/4" factory fit speakers for $69.00 per set. I also have a subwoofer powered buy a kenwood amp that I can put into the car (trunk). Can you audio people tell me if its a wise choice? If not what do you recommend? I usually just listen to AM talk radio.(I'm an old guy.....45 years old....SUX getting old!)so you see why I don't need the best, but when I want to rock out a little bit..(Aerosmith, etc) I want something that sounds good. Also looking for factory trunk carpet...it's missing!
TIA

I'm not totally sure, but you can always go to crutchfield.com, sounddomain.com or the stereo section of the forum, when ever I have a question about my system that's the 3 places I go. And I always get direction and knowledgeable answers.
I hope that will help you find what your looking for..
