I tried the ECU trick but NO dice!
I installed my Frankencar intake and I have had it on for the last three days and I still have my CEL on and I have tried resetting the ECU but nothing has changed. How long exactly am I supposed to leave the battery disconnected for the ECU to reset. I left it off for around 3 hours and still nothing. I placed the sensor that was in the airbox on the outside of the filter obviously but I am not sure if this would cause the CEL or what.
The weird thing is I seriously haven't noticed ANY performance gains at all. If anything my low-end performance has diminished considerably. Any help upon what might be going on will be very much appreciated! Thanks.

Those are the only ways I know how to reset the ECU...you already tried disconnecting the battery, try the first suggestion I guess.
Otherwise check the post I linked above or search for Frankencar install help.
Two ways to reset your ECU:
1. Take off the access panel on the extreme left bottom of the center console near where it meets the firewall. Use a screwdriver and follow the instructions on the sticker on the ECU.
2. Disconnect the battery for at least 15 minutes, then reconnect it.

I think ppl are misunderstanding this... I thought there 2 thing to reset... one was JUST THE CEL (following the screwdriver/screw method) and the other one was to reset the ECU... which is disconnecting the battery for 15 min.
In your case, you gotta reset the CEL function using a screwdriver.

just wanna say thanks again to this site. this info helped me take care of my CEL. i tried the battery thing twice and it never worked. you've got to do the clockwise, counter-clockwise thing twice to reset the ECU. as soon as i did it the CEL went away.

From my understanding if it is OBD II compliant (any vehicle in the USA 96 and newer) pullin the battery will NOT reset the ECU.
