supercharging

I'm looking to buy a '95 Maxima SE with a supercharged engine. I figured that the same Maxima without the supercharger would be priced somewhere around $8,000. My question is how much should I offer for this car, supercharger included, when the dealership is asking $9995. The supercharger is aftermarket, I don't know what effect this has on the pricing but if someone could help me out I would be very appreciative.

Thanks,
Colin

I am surprised the dealership is selling a S/C Max. Anyway, I'd ask how many miles on the S/C. Find out if its a V1 or V2. Who installed it. What other mods the car has...etc. Paying $2k more for the car with a SC is too much IMO.

It might be one of the SMX maximas, you guys forgot that stillen did supercharge some Nissans back in 95 or 96. IF the car retails for 10,000, tell them 9,000 and work from there.

As far as I know, the car has no other mods besides
the supercharger. It has 87K for mileage and its a 5-speed.

see if there are any maxima gurus in your area and have them take a look at it if your not up to speed on max knowledge. other wise it seems like a decent deal if they would knock of a grand or two.

Sounds like a really good deal, usually a SC would cost nearly $4000 all together with installation, If I were you , I would find a mechanic that you trust, have him/her look at the car and find out if its in good condition

Thats a good price, If you got some extra money around if/when you buy it, put in some nice mods, you should be able to get plenty of power

try and see if you can find the previous owner throught the DMV... ask them how they drove and treated the car
