Need Adivce

well i have a 96 white maxima GLE with gold trim... and i was thinking about converting it into a 97-99 maxima .. by changing the bumpers grill and head lights and trunk lid... is it worth it...

are the 97-99 maximas really that much better than the 95-96 maximas...

thanks for the replys...

Well...

This is what I suggest. I would change out the headlights, clearance, and fog lights for the 97+ and keep the same grille. Next I would swap out the trunk and tail lights cause than you are able to get eh red/clear tails that look rad.

97+ Maximas aren't better, they just have more clearer lights up front which reflect better and the trunk an tail lights are slightly different and can allow you to have more options on customizing your max.

Its up to you though. I have changed out the headlights and they look SOOO much better. I still have yet to change out the trunk and tails. Good luck to you man.

Well... not really. I have a superblack 96 w/ the gold trim and I converted just the front end (unfortunately i couldn't swap the headlights for the clears). I was in a situation where i had gotten into an accident and the front was all messed up... i just asked the body shop to order a 97+ grill instead of a 96. As for the rear... I don't see much difference in the looks... just the ambers-clears/reds are switched. It can be cool to clear them out urself w/ the 97+ taillights... but i ended up redding them out, to make it a bit more unique w/o having to go the altezza route (thank god).

So yea... if you have the time and money, go for it! Just look around for a junkyard that has a 97+ w/ a good front end (really doubt it). I also did the "home-depot grill" mod... it looks pretty good. All i want now is the clear headlights which i'm attempting to look for now. Good luck.

You're asking us? "Do 97-99 maximas look better than 95-96 maximas?" is an opinionated question. Personally I don't think one looks better than the other (there's pluses and minuses about both in my book, and both end up making the car neutrally-styled at best). If you see 97-99 maximas and for some reason say to yourself "Man, my car NEEDS to look like that!", then convert :P

97+ bumpers are also a little more sturdier than the 95-96 ones.
