225/40/18 tires.. pressure?
Does anybody have this setup, and how much air should i put in. The place where i got them put on put 45 psi, and the ride was bumpy as a rock. Right now, i have 35 psi all around, but i would like more ideas. Thanks

i read the max psi on the tires.. it said 50 psi. I found that out the hard way that 35 psi is too low... got some dings on the rims from small bumps on the road. They still look pimp though . I put 42 psi on the front and 40 on the backs...Any more ideas?

38 to 40 didn't make a difference. My max PSI was 44.
If yours is 50-51...you should be ok with 42/40 PSI

Max pressure on a tire indicates that it is the maximum allowable pressure the tire can safely handle. DO NOT inflate to this unless specified by the car's owners manual.
Your car company, in coordination with the tire industry, calculates a specfic cars PSI using that particlular car's weight and weight distribution as two major factors to deduce an optimal PSI for your Maxima to yeild optimal handling/comfort and tire longevity.
Deviating from the reccommended PSI for your car, no matter what size you have, will give you uneven wear over long periods of time.
Just because you upgrade tires to a larger size, does not mean to change the pressure.
Basically, you overinflate to save your rims, you wear out the middle of your tires faster.
You underinflate to give you mroe traction/comfort, you wear out the outer edges.
You keep it at around 30 psi front/back, your tires will wear out evenly.
Call Tire Rack at 888-541-1777 if your skeptical.
