Tried a Wheel Experiment
I swapped the factory 17" wheels from my '02 SE to my I-30 which has 17" BSA racing wheels and pirelli tires. Before I mounted them I weighed the wheel/tire combo. Nissan Maxima wheel 54 Lbs The BSA wheels 42 lbs. Driving the I-30 with the heavier wheels, you can feel the extra unsprung weight. Today, I was running against a v-6 stang and I was pulling away ever so slightly, normally, I pull away with no problem. I got to dump these heavier wheels.
