Now he said he has ported the upper and lower plenum, when I asked if that was possible all I got was speculation and smartass responses.

Well there was quite a debate about it a while ago on whether or not the 12.x time was legit because of the numbers of the time slip and the lack of evidence (i.e., video showing time board). Of course the thread got deleted. I am kinda leary myself that it ran a 12.2 and NOBODY saw it.

And you got me on the second point, he never said it was rebuilt.

I also saw an email where he was trying to justify the 60' vs the mph vs the time and then he said he was on the brakes at end of the quarter, thats why the times were skewed.
Lets try this again, I run a 12.2, then I try and convince everyone that the reason the mph and times were skewed was because I was on the brakes at the end of the 1/4 because he heard a weird noise. You are kidding right?
It boils down to this. You run a fastest time for a Max, you produce a timeslip or video proving it. Otherwise you are just HOT air.
I would never post a time without proof, nor would I ask anyone to believe it if I couldn't prove it.
You can believe what you want but I reserve my support for the guys who produce proof.

Otherwise its all BS
I am not saying its not true just unproven. There are Max's in the 12's its Don's 12.2 I don't believe.

Otherwise it means nothing. Anybody can say they ran XX.XXX. But just saying you ran a 12 means diddly unless you are a moron and will belive anything that anybody says.

Jamie's 12s are legit. He wasn't very active on this board but he was really active in the import racing scene on the northeast. I seen his car run at Etown and Atco at large sanctioned events ie. NIRA, IDRC. I didn't see his fastest time but I seen some that were pretty close. He had the same setup I have now plus he was 5 speed and running DR or slicks. If I can pull off 14.5 @ 104mph with 2.5 60ft time. His 5 speed with DR or Slicks is low 13s and high 12s easy.

How do you figure a 10-sec FWD car is the fastest? There are plenty of 9 sec cars around. Guy out of Eden, NC has a Neon that runs 9 flat and its an automatic. His name is Mike Crawford, his team is Phatridz.

I had the pleasure to take a ride in Mardigras' max at the MD meet. We even had some fun toying with 2 F bodys (newer Camaro SS and a Firehawk) on the road. He hit 1st and it went from 3k to 6.5k in about the blink of an eye. Then he banged 2nd gear and got nothing but wheel spin for the next 3 seconeds. Hehehe it was awesome.
Oh yeah, apparently the fastest FWD car is a tubular civic that runs 7s.

Someone should compile a list of the top 10 fastest Maxima's in the U.S. that way when the question is asked as often as it is (at least once a week) then we could just link them to it.

I just can't believe after reading this whole thread, and how people claim to have slips from others proving their times, we still see no pictures of slips, or videos. Seriously

I was just startin out on the Maxima forums when Jamie Farr was leaving. I think his times are legit.
I have also seen a slip that belongs to Phill, so I think his time is legit.
I have a picture that came from Don of a time display showing a 12.212@112.38, you can bairly make out the taillights and they do sorts look like a 4th gens. Now given all the BS surrounding DOns time I am sceptical. If don would only share the full video then we would know for sure. Theirs two ways to look at it, either he is full of bull or he just dosent really give a rats butt if we all think he was the fastest or not.
I just want to catch SR20DEN, gotdarn 12.999, bas+ard!!!

I still say someone should post a thread, then made into a sticky, of who the top 10 are. The question gets asked at least once a week, and it would be easier to link to than just telling the inquiring mind to "search". The times should be confirmed times, so that we don't have this problem of people not believing posted times.
Maybe a thread can be started to compile the numbers, from reputable members of course, and then a quick 1 post summary can be made into a sticky. How about that? I'd be willing to contribute to finally squash the never ending questions taking up bandwidth.
