question about new clutch
i'm having my clutch installed at my work... and when the tech took the old OEM clutch out, i compared it to my new OEM clutch. the pressure plate is somewhat different... but all the holes line up. but the biggest difference is the clutch disc itself. the old one has 6 springs in it with 6 small spring within the larger springs. the new one only has 4 springs... 2 have smaller springs within them, and the other two seem to be a little heavier gauge. i'm assuming nissan has redesigned their OEM clutches since 1997, but does anyone know how the difference in spring design might change the performance of the clutch? will it grab any harder than my old one... or will it engauge softer? or does this just have to do with the pressure plate? thanks.

This probably won't help much but I think Nissan offers two different clutches for our cars. I think one is a better grade and costs considerably more whiile the other one, I think is called a Nissan Key Value clutch,is meant to cut costs - if that's the one you got it may be somewhat different
