Hey i have a question. Now u kno how the clearance lights (the lights next to the head lights) get REALLY brite when u turn on your turn signal? Well how do i re-wire then to STAY on? and if this is possible, will they burn out quick, since they will be on all the time (when all tha lights are on).. Also is there a way to re-wire the bumper lights to function like Integra lights ( keep the turn signal bumper lights always on)(and then flash when u turn on your signal) can someone let me know if any of these are possible.

I don't know the answer to your questions...

but I want to do both those same things. Also, do you have any pics of your car and the interior (tv in dash)?

I have a 97'and this is what I did!
Take the lens out. Remove the bulb from the socket.Take a small flathead srewdriver and pry up on the little black plastic piece while pushing up on the wire in
the back(black with the red stripe). This wire is the to work with. The other wire(black) is just a ground and there is no need to mess with it. The wire(black
with red stripe)is soldered to the back of the little black plastic piece. Cut this wire off of where it is soldered to,keep up with the spring so you won't forget it. This
wire will be spliced to the other connection. I drilled a hole straight through the other side, through the solder and all and I took apart and old fuse holder, the flat
sides that looks like a nail head this is where the contact point of the bulb will be. Drill a hole big enough in the plastic to slide the wire from the fuse holder through
about 18 ga. size. Splice the fuse holder wire with a butt splice to the wire(black with red stripe). Slide everything back into place and you should be set. The bulb should shine brighter than it did in the beginning. All we are doing is lighting up the high side on this dual filament bulb,by swapping contact points in the socket.

Also you need to get hyperwhite XENON bulbs so it will burn brighter #1157
I get my lights from here-
http://www.aieonline.com/
Eurolite XENON Crystal Bulbs-
Headlights-#9004
Side Markers/Clearance lights(rewired-#1157
Clear front bumper lenses #194
Vision Fog lights-#H3
Eurolite Clear Euro Side Markers(custom mounted in rear bumper)-#194

It looks real good at night with the same bright white bulbs in all of your lights looks real uniform and they all match. They give off great visibilty and are not the ugly riced out blue tint which decreases vision after all lights are used for you see the road and anything ahead not for people to see you. And in the daytime there is a cool reflection of blue in the background of each of the lights.

You are taking/unsoldering the wire from one contact point to the other,me and solder don't get along so I did what I descibed above in my post. When you take it apart whatever contact point the wire is on change it to the other.

this way is easier

i took a 1156 bulb file away 1 of the nibbles so it fits back into the socket of the corner lights, and it lights brighter.

Thanks Benny.....For the EASY fix on Corners...

Your method is easy and works well using the 1156 bulbs. Only takes a few minutes and doesn't require re-wiring. I had forgotten what it was like to actually have cornering lights that work!

yeah using 1156 bulbs work and a lot easier then rewiring the corner lamps, but you still gotta rewire the bumper lenses to make the lens blink better.

To rewire the turn signal, goto the how2 section of http://www.maximadriver.com, its under "how to rewire your cornering lights". except it says to use a solder but you can you use a wire tap, its much easier.

So ...do the turn signals stay on full-time after the turn signal re-wire...like the late model GM cars? Is that the main advantage of the turn signal re-wire?

No, they don't stay on all the time. If the headlights are off then when you signal the turn signal light and corner light will blink together as one unit. If the headlights are on then the lights alternate when you signal, like the integras.

1156 vs 1157

I went to the local autoparts store to look at the bulbs. They look identical except the 1156 has a single contact point on the bottom (like a regular household bulb) vs the two smaller individual contact points on the 1157. Does anyone know why using the 1156 in the clearance light will make it bright all the time? What exactly do you have to shave off to use the 1156 bulb? Also, what is a good source for the bulbs in "superwhite" form that will look O.K. with my Sylvania CoolBlues (very white light)

XRAYDOC99: I use all Polarg Hyper White and Red bulbs in my car. They are in my opinion the best hyper white bulbs i have seen. Even my tails are a deeper red color, very noticable difference. As for the fronts they look great next to my Piaa 9004's and Hella Yellow Stars. I know Apc makes them as well, so i guess its up to you. Polarg 1157 bulb costs $10 each, 1156 costs $8 each and the 194 pr is $10. Kinda pricey but worth it.

you file off the 1 nibble on the side of the light bulb socket. the 1157 have 1 high and 1 low nibble. the 1156 have 2 low nibbles. by filing away 1 you fit it in the socket and fit the low nibble.
