Should I purchase this maxima?
Should I purchase this maxima?
I have a dilemma. I already own a 95 Maxima but my girlfriend called me today about a deal on a 96 Max. The deal is $3000 but it has 179000k on it. I think that she should talk him down to $2500 but regardless I'm wondering if its worth it all together. She isn't sure what model it is but its either a SE or a GLE because it has leather and she said the car looks nice. What questions should I ask the seller and what should I look for when inspecting/test driving? Should I take it to a regular mechanic or a Nissan mechanic to get looked at? Help me please!

on used vehicles of that vintage and mileage i always like to get 10,000 miles out of every $1000 i have in them...its treated me well with my beater cars....will you get 30K out fo that car...probably...but beat him down some on the ready to replace items...tires, cv's, starter, belts, thermostat, battery...etc...anything you can find....
dead maxima at 150?
...who are you kidding? if i can run the pants of a 4 cylinder honda to 225K or a 4 cylinder toyota 2wd pickup to 250K and still have compression within spec, a max is good for that much and more....hell my dad's 3.0 Merc Sable ran to 160 when he sold it to my sister who ran it up to 200K and it was still running (she never changed the oil once in those last 40K, just kept adding....eeewwww)

Oh. I almost forgot. My girlfriend said that he is leaving the TV and DVD in the car with the sale. Now I don't know exactly what it is but I believe it is an Alpine CVA - 1005 with the matching Alpine DVD player becuase my girlfriend said that the TV has no CD slot and that the DVD player is right under it in the dash. I know that Alpine is the only people that made a setup like that for a long time and he wouldn't leave something new in there to sell. So I'm thinkin that also makes the deal better but I would like as many opinons as possible so everybody keep replying and I will let you know the outcome. Thanks. Mike.
