Maxima Trans.-->To---> I-30t-LSD Trans..Anyone Do It ?? Axel Question ??

Ok I have the I-30 for my Maxima and today the Macanic called me up and told me that both axels have to be changed and not jsut the drivers side like I was told cause the drivers side it bigger and the Paassenger is the same..Can anyone shed some light on this at all ? Please ?? Im confused cause the guy at Nissan told me it was a different part but the spline on the inside of the trans was the same on the pass...its big bucks if I have to do both please ???

I don't know for sure.

I spoke with Don in Texas who had done the swap and he said only the driver side needed to be replaced. He's the only one I can think of right of hand that has done this swap.

Its 5spd and I found out this morning I Do have to replace both axels on both sides...I had a choice to either buy used ones for $250 or new rebuilt ones for $300 + a $50 core charge for one...so $350 for rebuilt ones and I dont have to worry about them ever again
and I have an LSD trans now I hope its worth it
About $2000 dollars later $600 for the trans, about $550 labor, $400 Lightened flywheel, $150 slave and master cyl, $50 synlethic Oil, and $350 for the axels, and $25 to go to back to a stock shifter
