Dual Exhaust question (Camaro Setup)

OK my exhaust is starting to rust out and its banging around so im looking at replacing the whole thing, from y-pipe to muffler, and i think i may go with the dual camaro setup and make it look different from max's around here. My question is: ive been looking at a flowmaster 50 series (not as loud as the 40 series) but the only one that i found that comes close to the stock diameter is 2.25" inlet into 2.00" dual outlets. Seeing that i would have 2 outlets i know i wouldnt get more back pressure, but would the reduced size be ok??

First off if you want to do that go with borla. More adaptable. Also I don't know how you are going to be original. Explain your idea a little more.

What i mean is that i havent seen a twin pipe 4th gen around here in western MA. And seeing that im replacing the whole exhaust, im looking to wrap a pipe around the tire well out to the other side, like Craig Mack's setup. Im just curious if going to a smaller outlet on the muffler will hurt.........

i'd go 2.5 from y-pipe to flowmaster/borla/etc and then 2.25 or 2.5 back.. and see what it sounds like.. you may want to get a high flow resonator off ebay or something that will make it deeper and get rid of any raspiness..

Thanks for the advice, my only other question is, is borla my only choice for a muffler that still has 2.5 for outlets as well as inlets. flowmaster has 2.5 in but only 2.0 out they dont make anything else for outlets. Would a borla be abnoxiously loud?? and hows magnaflows rep around here? the do have a 2.5 in and 2.5 out. Im looking for a setup that is slightly louder than stock but not something that is just annoying.

No there are other Universal mufflers that do that but I think that they are a lot louder than borla.
