anyone race an Audi A4??

Not sure what type it was other than that it was s new model. It was very late and I probably wasn't in too good shape to drive. I was neck and neck with it until I shifted into 3rd, he started pullin...I quit around 70 and he was ahead. I was shocked...

I have a budget Y and hybrid intake.

I did in my 300ZXTT, I beat the living $hit outta that car. But for some reason, I always do in my Z.

Can't wait to see what my MimiTT (aka 97 Maxima) will do...

Raced one on the highway when all I had was a Y-pipe. We started at sixty and I walked him slowly.

But my car is a factory juggernaut, I also raced a max with a hybrid intake, stillen Y, and test pipe (mine still with stock intake and only a Y at the time) off the line I pulled about a foot or two, then no one moved for the duration of the race.

Check your MPG, you may have somthing holding you back, or the A4 might have been modified.

1.8T

You know Audi and VW are brothers. They have the same basic 1.8T and what I have read afew of you have met the "chipped" 1.8t and did not have good results. You can "chip" a Audi just as easy as you can a VW. Just my opinion.

The Wonderful Audi. As a maxima owner first and foremost i am saying this only out of respect for german cars. I love the 4 series, I've had the pleasure of driving all their 3 models. The A4 2.8, 1.8t and the S4. The 1.8t is a cool car, has peep but not a constant pull. I don't think a factory 1.8t would really stand a chance against a maxima, unless it was in the turns... the quattro system on those cars is amazing! The 2.8 has some get up and go, the engine is really really smooth and has a pretty constant power band and decent shift points in the standard. 125mph is not a hard thing to creep up on with out alot of effort. The S4, my dream car is nasty. Just nasty. 2.7 V6 Twin Turbo nasty suspension (1" drop off the A4) decent rims and nice insides, all marble instead of wood...yummy. The turbos spool at a redicously low rpm and the cars pulls consistantly through the band. 3rd gear 1800rpm 35-40mph to 80mph took a blink of an eye... it sucked me into the seat... i was giggling. The other cool thing is even with the quatro system, the S4 can chirp 3rd!... its a crazy car and I would def. reco a test drive or its purchase if you can justify the 40k it costs.

Ya I got spanked by a manual A4 right after third gear, we were rolling like at 35 miles per hour. I have an auto and proball in the wrong gear so he spanked me bad. Damn autos........

My fiance has an A4 1.8t quattro auto, I'd have to say they are kinda hard to judge, due to the varying number of mod's, whether it is Quattro or not, and if it's an auto or manual. The auto quattro is kinda slow, sure it picks up nicely on the freeway, but my Max would stomp on it any day (except maybe in the snow) but once you chip them it a whole new story, and there are a number of pretty cool mod's available.
