whys this happen

ive had my maxima for about a month now and i've been noticing some things about my automatic transmission, in the morning when it is cold around 30 degrees out, it seems to shift much faster and harder but after the engine has been warmed or it is warm out, the shifting is so damn slow, any suggestions to this ?

It's normal. It's because the fluid gets thicker the colder it gets, making the shifts harder in the cold morning when you first start driving, once it warms up to operating temp, it shifts smoother. If you add a tranny cooler, this will be noticable for a little while longer, as it takes longer for the tranny to heat up. Hope this helps.
