Ward's Engine Opinion

Hi to all,

Happy Thanksgiving first of all, just wondering if Mercedes and BMW engines are the best, how come the VQ engine for the last 5 or more years makes it to the top 10 engine every year in the Ward's and not BMW or Mercedes, just a thought.

BMW has had MANY engines on Ward's 10 Best list since 1995 as well. Not just a single engine like Nissan. There aren't many engines that have *not* made the 10 Best list from BMW, lol

The 3.2L V6 Benz engine from the E320 has also been on the 10 best list since 1998. This year their 5.0L V8 from the ML500 and other cars made it as well.

Nissan's VQ has made it every year more because the VQ is the only really outstanding engine (at least in the US) from Nissan, whereas there are MANY outstanding engines from BMW.

The sad thing is, the new VQ that won is for the Altima, not the Maxima. The choice of engine is also related to it's application...so in other words, the VQ in 2k2 Altimas is a better combo than the VQ in the 2k2 Maximas. Interesting thought, huh?
anybody vote for the worst engine? i can't even recognize any of them. haah!
