Did you bump the electronic clip by the air intake? Check those connections. Obviously the battery didn't do it...you had to have bumped something. Maybe check your codes on the computer See the FAQ for that).

i just changed the alternator and battery on my car and now it drops down to around that number when I take the foot off the gas, but then it jumps up after a second or two....maybe our cars do not like running with new electricity?

I JUST GOT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!!! DAMIT IM HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS ABOUT THESE CARS!!!

IN THE PAST 1 MONTH I HAVE

CHANGED ALL SIX FUEL INJECTORS, ALL SIX IGNITION COILS, 60K SERVICE FROM THE DEALER, FULL TUNE-UP, NEW BATTERY, NEW SUSPENSION, NEW BRAKES, AND A WHOLE LOT OF OTHER SHIET.. AND I RESET MY ECU... STILL I HAVE MORE PROBLEMS... THE CAR IS GETTING BAD GAS MILEAGE(11-12 MPG) CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON... IDLES AT 400 RPM AT IDLE. THE CAR DOESNT KNOW ITS COLD OUTSIDE WHEN ITS COLD I START IT AND IT SHUTS OFF.. I HAVE TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY FOR 5 SECS FOR IT TO START.... DAMMIT :-( HAD IT DIAGNOSED COUPLE OF MONTHS BACK AND IT WAS ALL FINE EXCEPT MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRE.. SO I HAD ALL THAT DONE

LEME KNOW WHAT U GUYS THINK I SHOOULD DO.. OR WHAT CAN BE MAKING MY CAR DO THIS

What code came up?? That should help narrow it down right there.

2 weekends ago I installed a fog light kit. The instructions said to disconnect the battery. After I was done and reconnected the battery, the maxima would not start. It would crank over just fine but would not start. I reset the computer and after a few more tries it started and ran fine. I have had no problems since then. I am not sure if it was the resetting of the computer that finally made it work or not though. Maybe worth a try though.

Did you ever solve this problem. I have a multiple cyl misfire, 0701 also. Dealer insists I need 6 new coils. But my mileage is good and car runs pretty dang smooth. The search I performed came up with many threads. But no one ever says what finally fixed the problem.

I don't mean to sound dumb but did you adjust the idle by turning the screw on the PCM under the dash back to the right? Or did you do it manually under the hood?

I brought my Max to the dealership this morning, and the guy just called me up, and told me i needed new ignition coils because some of mine are burnt out....Now What are ignition coils, and how much do they go for each? and would i be able to buy them off you, and have the dealership install them for me, if i just pay labor, or are these something i can install myself?...PLEASE HELP!

igntion coils are coils that give electricity to the spark plugs, they are right on top of the spark plugs. i am a 100% sure u can change them yourself... u just need the instrutions... i didnt need the but u might be needing them because u dont even know what they are... anyways if the dealer tells u to replace all of them dont listen to them... replace just the defective ones... i have 6 igntion coils in my garage.. HANSHIN which are the best ones... new ones are about around 100 bucks each .. and ill sell you 6 for $150+Shipping they are all in great working condition. PM me if your interested.
