Phantom Grip

Has anyone heard anything on the Phantom Grip Limited Slip Mod? Is it any good? does it really work? Does anyone actually have this on their car? Was it worth it?

I don't have any experience w/ these but read in Sport Compact that they installed one on their 200SX SeR project car and love it. You might want to check that article out.

I was thinking about getting one of these. It seems like a simple idea of linking the opposing spider gears together. Looks similar to a clutch diff like the kaaz has. And on their website it does state that it has a lifetime warranty.
What I was wondering is how come it's only for 98-01's? are 95-97's different? If so, that bites cause I have a 97.
Does anyone out there know if there is a difference between 97 and 98 differentials or transmissions?
Also, if it is just the diff that's different but the trans is the same, i have a friend with a 98 who just got a quaiffe. he's got a 98 diff lying around. if the phantom grip will not go into my diff, can i put it in his diff and put his diff in my trans?

SCC put one in their Project Neon and Project 200SX 1.6, if I recall correctly... not Project 200SX SE-R, which has the factory VLSD.

Think of it as a clutch type diff without the clutches. The problem is that on a clutch type diff, the clutches are what allow for smooth transition between lock and slip. Clutch material, and spring tension determine how aggressive a clutch type differential is. They have a lifetime warranty because nothing can possibly happen to the unit itself. But if it were to wear your differential or damage it in any way, obviously that's not covered. Plus it's $6-$800 for labor to pull and install the differential.
