Possible to open Altezzas to mod them?

I was wondering how possible it would be to open my altezzas and spray the "Black Chrome" surround a darker shade of black. Or even totally black. I was washing my baby and took a few pics. In this one pic, the left tail light came out dark, and i really like the look of it.

Please no flames about altezzas, I like them and thats all the matters

Heres the pic... http://www.street-tunerz.com/maxima/...s/12080016.JPG

Just open them the same way you open the stock tails...
Do a search for clear tails and youll find pleanty of instructions.

your lights look good the way they are I would not risk opening them up...leave well enough alone...you might regret it if they get broken up upon opening them...

or paint the outside of them....

i've gone through two sets of altezzas trying to open them. trust me - it can not be done easily... if it can be done at all.

wouldn't recommend it.

I'm not sure if you'd want to do this, but since I also have a dark car (Emerald Black), I was planning on getting dark chrome Altezzas (yeah, I prefer the red/clears but don't have the patience/$$ to wait to find them for a 95) and spraying tint spray over them. I really hate the silver trim on the black chrome/carbon fiber ones and thought this would be the best way to mask it, short of doing the "skyline" look. Maybe you can give it a try and post how it looks.

dont break them open just deal w/them the way they are or spray the outside of the lense I'm just trying to prevent you from doing something you will regret like breaking already good looking tail lenses...

black chrome really looks good IMO better than the carbon fiber(look-a-like)ones because the carbon fiber ones you know and can see that the carbon fiber is fake.....

Ya I attempted to open them. I was actually successful in opening the inners no problem. I even got them painted and all but the outers are almost impossible to open without cracking the clear lenses. They are so cheaply made that even the oven trick melts them easily. I highly recommend against it.

hey, the skyline mod is nice, and it will match my body kit. But one thing i wanna know is exactly how do i do it. I mean, it says match bowls. Do i just stick paper circles then paint it. I mean, i have the chrome ones and i HATE it. I cant wait till i skyline it. Ill do it all, skyline mod, body kit, and sides ionic.

I dont want to jack it up, i just dont like the chrome. Im gonnna paint it white around the circles. And i get the paint from paint scratch.com. Anyone who did this help me out, i dont know how! Thanks!
