Gas smell when i turn on heater. HELP

When i turn on my heater, gas fumes come into my car, only way to stop it is to circulate the interior air.

It's ruin a perfectly good 95'

Does any body have any suggestions on what it could be ?

I figure i should have an idea before i take it to the shop.

Thx

Re: Gas smell when i turn on heater. HELP

I've got a similar problem I'm going to look at tomorrow. Open the hood, find the fuel filter. Trace the rubber fuel lines around with a flashlight and look for a leak. Tighten screws or replace hoses if necessary. The cold weather loosens the rubber hoses and makes leaks more common.

I have this smell today. It is -11 here today and I left my car running for like 20 minutes to warm it up, and when I went out it smelt bad like gas inside. I turned off the heater and it went away. Anybody got a fix yet?!?

I had replaced the top hose coming out of the fuel filter just recently. One night driving, I noticed a nasty gas smell. I went home to investigate. It turns out to be a pin-sized hole in the top hose. It was squirting out gas when the car is on. I went to autozone and bought a 9" hose to replace. The original was maybe 7". I figure a longer hose would be better for fuel filter change later on. Instead of yanking on the top hose, I might as well cut it.
