any problems getting high-beamed by oncoming drivers? And did you loose your high beam?

Holy sheet! Good pics man! The stock 9004s look downright dangerous to drive with, the amount of light they throw out is so small not to mention their **** poor beam pattern.

The beam pattern doesn't change when adding HIDs... The reflector really determines the output of light on the road. HIDs in a 9004 housing have the same poor beam pattern, just more light is shined on the road. This can be a bad thing if they're not aimed very low, since they will glare in oncoming drivers' eyes.

I never said the beam pattern changes when adding HIDs. I am a student of Daniel Stern's lighting knowledge :-), believe me, I know good reflector design.

I was driving a few cars behind a 2k2/k3 the other night and I noticed the the HIDs on the new Maximas don't seem to produce a very sharp cutoff or well defined beam pattern. Anyone have pictures of the beam?

my bad, these are the 6000k kit. I guess i was just thinking something else. I did reaim my headlights really low at first and then stood 25,50,100ft away and the glare is almost the same as when they were not aimed down. So after taking several pic of this nature i reaimed them higher, with the driverside slightly lower and i found the perfect balance.

I did get high beamed a few times after i just put them in and drove around for a day, but never after i reaimed them. Oh, btw if u aim the headlights down u might as well not get the kit cause your beam will look pretty much similar to my bluvision pic.

As for my high beams, no they do not work, but i can still communicate with other drivers since the beam does turn off if i toggle my non-existant high beams.

I told my co-worker about this high beam situtation an he said he might be possible to wire up a high beam. Im not sure what hes thinking but ill let u guys know if something happens

I did the same thing! first day I drove around I got high beamed once, then I lowered them, drove around @ night... couldn't see shiet it was almost stock like (I lowered them a lot) and the glare was still there standing in front of the car. I put them up a bit (lower than stock) with the passanger side a little higher than driver side. The beam pattern looks pretty good for crappy 9004 housing. The light doesn't go all the way down the street but travels further than stock & the glare isn't that bad.
