trunk latch = sucks

Whenever i close my trunk the latch never holds it completely down. The inner tail pieces are noticably uneven with the outer pieces and it looks like garbage. Anybody have any suggestions? Ive tried looking at it but i'm not too keen on trunks. Maybe replacing the latch? if so how much. Feedback please.

Re: trunk latch = sucks

you can get in your trunk and close it make sure you have the remote with you and someone outside .... but check the for sale forum for someone parting out their car or go to a junkyard or a dealership

I wouldnt trust myself or the person outside. People have hidden agenda. Kidding aside, maybe ill try that, but i dont know what to look for. I checked the for sale and nothing there. Its not that bad but gawd it still is noticable by me!

You mean the trunk sits higher then the outer tails? My car had this problem too. Simple correction, take a 10 mm wrench, loosen the 2 10 mm bolts that are at the base of the trunk (not the lid but on the car itself). Move it all the way down as it has some play. Tighten the bolts Then try again. After I did this my tails lined up perfectly .
