127 mph top speed?
hi there...well im back of the freeway i was trying to find out how much my Max can go....and heres the results:
i run my car at 120 mhp in O/D off, when i consider almost red line in the odometer i change to O/D on to get more speed with change the gear...it results...my car go a little more fast...the speed i got was 127 mph.
I saw many guys that tells the maxima easy get more than 130 mph maybe my engine is old.....my max is 1995, and has 130,000 miles, what do you think? aaaa almost forgot i dont know why my max GXE doesnt have governor, and comes with bose stereo/cd, sunroof, etc..the only difference with gle is the leather seats.
what do you think about the top speed?????

forgot to tell you...
i forgot to tell you guys, the 127 was at 4200 rpms. There some guy to told here that we should put o/d on at 130mph to get easly 140, but i think if my car was 127mph with o/d on, for 15 seconds..it supposed to seems the top speed cause the car didnt get more fast.

the reason your GXE doesnt have a governor is prolly because you got the nicer one without the crappy tires, the cheapest max in 95 had to have govenor cuz it wasnt safe to go over 110
my max is 95 auto and i could only get it to 120
supposebly top speed is 144, but then again the engine is getting old
i tested this around 95k miles, i have 104 now and refuse to drive that fast any more, maybe i can get up there with a ypipe and cai

Im surprised noone said anything yet- but how in the world did you get redline in the ODOmeter??? Madness, shear MADNESS! Sorry, i had to correct you, but the ol' odometer measures how many miles your car has driven/rolled/pushed/etc...

it's 10 easy steps to stop the governor. it makes your check engine light stay on and if you check the codes If you check the codes you will get 0104 (Vehicle speed sensor fault) and 0504 (A/T control unit fault).
no one's ever comlained about a change in drivability
1.Disconnect negative battery terminal.
2.remove ECU cover from passenger side footwall.
3.Loosen bolt in center of main ECU connector.
4.Unplug main ECU connector.
5.Remove snap-on plastic cover from ECU connector.
6.Locate PINK wire with BLUE stripe. (this wire is located on the right half of the connector when plugged in)
7.Cut PINK/BLUE wire.
8.Reassemble ECU connection.
9.Reconnect negative battery terminal.
10.Drive 140mph.
