Well, all i can say is i was amazed, this was my first race with my car. Weeell, i was at a light slowing down when i see this Black Accord Coupe 6-sp siting next to me. I wanted to race him, but i didnt wanna dare, thought id get raped (240bhp vs 190bhp). HA! We both took off in 1st normally, and shifted into second, and i gunned it, and he gunned it. As i was in second he pulled about 3 feet (my nose to his door) on me and he went into 3rd (they must have shorter gearing since their 6-sps) and i pulled on him in second till i hit third and he caught back up. By the time this happened i was hitting 80 in a 45mph Zone, so yeah, i slowed down.

Well, the best part isnt over, when we got to the next light, it turns out that was my brother-in-law!! hahaha, how small a world this is... I was like, "wtf man, that ***** has 240bhp!!" Lol, he was like "yeah, is that a stick?" I laughed and said yeah..

 

Good run, SteVtec has the graphs that show why this would be close race. Peak hp is about as relevant as hp per liter. Are you guy's going to do a fair run off the line? Keep us posted.

 

Man those new Accords are ugly as SIN. They make the new Max look like a Godsend........too bad they are still torqueless wonders. The 2k2 Max being rated with 220wheel torque makes me wonder about the 246 crank rating...hmm.

Hey thanks, yeah i think i wanna catch him from a fair off the line run. However, i need some better tires than these. I have all seasons (came with car) and they spin allll through first. Tried different launches, just aint working. When i get my Yokos, then ill go back at him from a start, till then, 2nd gear starts is pretty much what i can pull off.

 

I thought that the accord coupe is getting the CL-S 6 speed next year.

Yeah I don't think the Accord V6 6-speed coupe is out yet.. But they do look nice, the back is obviously ripped off a mercedes, and the front is the typical triangular honda headlights.

The overall form of the car is much nicer and smoother than the previous generation accord coupe, IMO.

BTW.. I havent had a chance against one of those new 6-cylinder Accords yet... But theres always that but...

 

Maybe it was a 5-sp then?! I dunno, i know it was definately a stick, its nose was dipping when he shifted, something an auto doesnt do. I didnt know you had a choice of 5-6-sp with those. Either way, i thought they would be quicker than that, way quicker.

 

Nope, it was a Type-S. He just really sucked at driving from what I witnessed, he didnt even scratch 2nd. Stupid spoiled kids.

 

Yes it is out and as i posted on top MT ran a 14.5 flat with the 6 speed, actually this was a few months ago. Easy on the RSX ,i ran a 15.7 stock with base model 160hp ,its first time at the track.
