Unless you are boosted, either one would be a waste of $$.

No it is not...you would spend just as much money on gauges alone and not be able to ever make any changes ... best advice is, you can get a horse to do a pony's job, but you cannot get the pony to do a horse's job

it is a valuable monitoring device, NA or forced...

I didnt think about just using it as a monitor. But, there are much better ways to spend that $$ if you are just looking for power.

for starters....

The S-AFC II features a user-definable, 12-point ( 8 pt for SAFC), adjustable fuel curve that can be set in 200 RPM increments( 500 RPM increments for SAFC

Yeah, but aside from that (you can read that part in the table on the japanese site)?

I'm about to pick up the S-AFC.. if the S-AFC II has something noticeably niftier, I'll get that instead..

so would this be a suitable device in place of obtaining actual gauges in the case that someone is turboed/sc/nos?

It's useful, but by no means is it a replacement for the all gauges... well, who knows what it is in this case - the S-AFC is good, to a point - egt or af ratio, boost, fp would still be useful.

Dunno if the s-afc II does anything else or what else it taps into, I do not read japanese (and I guess nobody else here does either )

My S-AFC read throttle position in percentage and analog, rpms in analog and numerically, afr under ALL conditions, and any applied corrections, can do peak hold and replay for diagnosis/tuning ...nothing different I am guessing from the new one but we'll see soon enough...no replacement for Boost Gauge, Oil/Fuel Pressure or EGT gauges on this but is good for overall monitoring of many things performance oriented NA drivers would be concerned with...

The e-bay link that I posted with sufficient info. on this product does not look like Japanese to me. I can understand it and I thought that the ebay auction was in english. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You seem to have problems understanding.

All that link indicates is the 200rpm / extra points where you can adjust the mixture.

Please grace us with your higher intelligence and post more information, otherwise you may sit on it and rotate

Doesn't everyone speak Japanese?

I was just goofing around... I didn't look at the website.

The auction however did mention more than just 200RPM (vs 500RPM) increments. In any case, the SAFC will probably drop in price big time when the SAFC II comes to the US. Unless you have the cash I don't think the SAFC II is anything special, especially for an NA car... the SAFC would be sufficient.

I'm hoping it does other cool stuff, but the company site has the info in .jpg format and won't go through a translator

I should get a japanese girlfriend instead of Palmela!
