all opinions on Frankencar

I am looking for an intake that has a loud deep growl, gives added power, and doesn't require a hole in the fender. Is the Frankencar the right one for me? Also, please explain what the midpipe is and what it does, where it goes, how much it costs.
How many Frankencar owners have had the problem with the throttle plate sticking as I have heard so much about?

Feel free to add any other comments on intakes, positive or negative.

If you're looking for a deep growl, good all around power and an intake that doesn't require a hole in the fender this would be the Frankencar. I just put it in yesterday and I love it. I can feel the gains throughout the powerband and the sound is amazing! I highly reccomend it. Just be careful when you install it, that all hose clamp parts sticking out are away from the throttle cable!

Cheaper alternative

Making your own is fairly simple

midpipe
http://www.drwebdesign.com/mymaxima/upperintake.html

attach filter to midpipe without having to buy an adapter.

I have made two midpipes so far. One to work with my stock box (I made another port for incoming air, so I was still using the stock box for a while) and one to work with a JWT intake so that it is short enough to get air from the lower half of the stock box.

I personally am partcial to the velocity stack intakes, with a midpipe.
