Can someone please tell me where i can get a driver's side view mirror? I have to repair one on my sisters' boyfriends car because she backed his car into a column and broke the plactic that goes around the mirror and cracked the actually mirror pretty badly. He said it would be ok if I could just get the glass, hes not too worried about the housing just the mirror.

Junkyard won't sell you just the glass. They'll make you buy the whole thing.

Grab a phonebook. Look under glass. There's 3 types of glass shops. The local guy that your gramma calls when a window breaks, the glass shop that the local guy goes to for supplies, and the one inbetween.

Just em all ask how much it'd be to replace an exterior mirror glass. Can't hurt. All they do is take a blank oversized piece, grind it down, slap some silicone on the backside, and blue tape it in place, telling you not to touch it for 24 hrs.

Maybe I'm jsut lucky, but I have a great glass shop near me. I had a mirror replaced once for like $10.

I never took the mirror apart on my Maxima, but on my mom's Accord, it was pretty easy to replace. Someone drove by and smacked into the mirror and it was all cracked.

We went to the Honda dealer and they sold us the mirror piece for $25. Just popped out the mirror, it was just attached by this little ball socket thing. And then just popped in the new one.

 

does anyone know how to remove just the mirror part on the maxima???
