My hood constantly does that too... So annoying to have cars like ours that are less than 4 or 5 years old, and to be looking for new struts... Geez...

My fix when working underneath? Take a small pair of visegrips, and pinch 'em on the strut... Just don't forget to take em off when you are shutting your hood... Imagine that nice dent from the inside OUT on your max...

mine worse my F***king hood fell on my torque wrench while tighting my strut thus BIG A$S DENT. ps new ones i got for 25 eacch sux a phat one it cant supoort the car bra what a pos i swear.

I think it's just a way of your Max trying to knock your a$$ out for beating and pounding on the engine with your right foot anytime you saw another Max, Camry or SHO.
