Fleet, Leased Cars

I am tired of looking for a perfect 98-99 Maxima 5-speed with a good price. Everytime i find something good, it's AUTO. So far i found several low miles (30K-50K) cars that i somewhat like but they are either FLEET or/and LEASED vehicles. What do u think about buying a car like that?

I wouldn't think twice about it, often vehicles registered as "fleet" are company cars. Leased, well, mine was leased before I got it and it's been sound in the 53k miles since then. If you find a car you like, have it checked out by someone you trust (or go over it yourself) and if everything checks out sign on the dotted line.

Ditto. My car was a leased fleet vechicle to a signing company in chicago. They did every single bit of maintence nissan recomends for service. Fuel filters, oil changes, rotations, and the like. And I have all of the paperwork documenting it. Reputable (read as large, well known) companies take car of their cars, so I wouldn't think twice if the vechile looks good. Chances are it was treated better by the company than you'll treat it. You should still have a mechanic (or yourself if you feel capable) check it out and also do a carfax to see if you can determine which company was the lease owner. Best of luck.

If you find one with 30k-50k mile on it,the car is in good shape plus the price is right go for it.With that low mileage you shouldn't have to worry too much.Just me $.02

I was told that my car was a "fleet" vehicle when I bought it. It had 13,000 miles on it. Just recently, through carfax, I found out that meant that it was a rental.

No big deal, it's got 161,000 miles on it now with no major problems.

mine was a leased vehicle, and it only had one owner, and she kept the car in perfect condition.

Ditto for me, an older gentleman babied my max for 3 years before I picked it up. I count on decent lease returns when shopping for used cars.

My company leases cars also. We take them to the dealers every 3 - 5 thousand miles for maintenence. Costs us $$$$ but the cars run perfect.

Now if only the sales guys would wash them more often.

We lease Maxima's and BMW's.

Forgot to mention, if it's a 5spd it's very doubtful it was a rental. I've never heard of anyone renting 5spd Maximas.

yeah, it's a 5-speed, so i don't think it was rental or anything. thank's for the info guys. i hope i will finally find something, i am just tired of looking, and driving my Chrysler 300M. I will give the Chrysler another 2-3 weeks for it to sell and if not, then i'll just trade it in.

I wouldn't trust any fleet cars or rentals.. Most ppl who drive them abuse the hell out of it.. I know I do when I have rentals. I basically floor it at every light..
