I got a Bulldog remote starter for Christmas to put in my '96 Maxima GLE. The problems I'm having are 1.) Getting the driver's door panel off (is there some trick to this?) and 2.) Finding the disable alarm wire (which is really related to #1 because I need the door panel off to find the wire).

Anyway, does anyone know how to get the door panel off and how I should run a new wire into the door from under the dash?

Or better yet, does anyone know where the disable alarm wire might be located under the dash (does it run somewhere under the dash that would be easier to get to than inside the door)?

Please let me know. Thanks

Sorry but I dont know the answers to your questions. But anyway, are they hard to install? How much does something like that cost? I am thinking about getting one of those.

The unit has been easy to install up to the point that I'm at so far. If I can figure out how to get to the diable alarm wire, I should be good to go. I think the unit I got was only around $150, but I've seen them as low as $60 before.

I was looking on ebay and have seen some pretty cheap? Does yours use the existing keyless entry remote or have another one? Check this thing out. It reminds me of James Bond's remote control BMW. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...755376&r=0&t=0

That is a pretty wicked looking remote!!

The unit I got has the option to install keyless entry, but I've chosen to leave it with the stock remote, so it's easier to pull the remote starter out when I sell the car (I really only need the unit to start the car...I'm ok with carrying two remotes).

This might help you get your door panel off:

I was looking at the different systems at bulldogsecurity.com. Which model did you get?
