Making Intake

With regards to making an intake using this website:
http://www.drwebdesign.com/mymaxima/upperintake.html
Exactly how loud is it? I don't want something extremely loud that I'll get sick of. I like something with a nice growl that gets a little meaner when flooring it. Is there anyway I can accomplish this with making an intake, or would it be more advantageous getting a frankencar.

Also, some newbe questions, sorry... what does WOT and with the intake, what is the IAC?

Thanks
-Mark

Only time you will hear it is above 3500 rpms. I've had mine for about a month or two now and I love it. and it shaveed about .2 off of my 1/4 mile.

Hey there, I just built my own using the 'plans' from that site. I LOVE the sound, a little louder a cruising speed, an awesome growl that gets more aggresive as RPMs increase.
I took a buddy who owns a Jetta for a ride and he thought it was amazing, you should've seen his face when I nailed it!
Cheers,
Matt

this is exactly how it will be.

It is the same thing. A piece of metal tubing with fittings for the hoses. If your not confident of your DIY(do it yourself) abilites or would like something that will look a little more professional go with frankencar. They are a good company, I have done business with them before.

I am happy with my mid pipe, although I will probably buy Frankencar's new bent mid-pipe they are comming out with.

I'd recomend that you don't get that breather filter he is talking about. there are sensors inside your head unit that need to be connected to the intake in order to get a correct reading. figure out a way to keep that hose connected. otherwise, I'm planning on doing this cheapman's intake myself. !

Head Unit

It's just the crankcase breather. It just needs to get filterd air, either from the intake path or through the breather filter.

Do you know what your talking about?

So after reading this exact post yesterday, i went out today and decided to make my own midpipe... well let me tell you it was kind of a *****...took me about 3 hrs...probably cuz im a fool..but anyways..the hardest part by far was the drilling...BUT I AM VERY VERY VERY HAPPY with the results...once you gun it on the rode you will have a smile on your face...trust me...btw get the breather filter..its easier that trying to connect a 3rd hole into the midpipe...oh and if you do get the breather filter, make sure you get the smaller one from advanced auto parts, not the bigger one...it doesnt fit..i had to find out the hard way
