previously i posted that i hear lifter noises on cold starts,could it actually be the knock sensor instead? does the knock sensor make any noises, especially when its cold outside?any info would be appreciated.

 

the knock sensor is a solid state device, there are no moving parts. if it is loose then it is not making an electrical connection since it grounds to the engine block. it could rattle if loose, but that does not mean it is necessarily bad since it is not making an electrical connection.
