tranny question

my tran has started making a whining noise at certain speeds, mostly noticible in 1st and 2nd gears under medium to hard acceleration. This started after I changed my drivers side CV axle. Does this sound like the dreaded main bearing problem? It is a 5 speed BTW. I am getting an I30 VLSD tranny in two weeks but I need this one to last until then. Comments?

Even if it is the bearings, you should be able to make it two weeks without a problem.
