Noise at 70 from intake?

I am really wanting and intake preferably cold air. Yet, I am in college at MSU and drive long distances often. I have searched, but could not find any info about how loud the intake is when cruising? I know they are loud when you rev them and that is tight, but just about how loud are they at like 3k to 4k...where the 5 spd is cruising at 70-90 mph.

short rams will actually give you more low end power...and intakes aren't really loud until you go WOT with them...then they scream

Yeah, I have a PR CAI, and at highway speeds (70-80) it sounds pretty quiet. But I almost always have the stereo up, so it might just be covering it. Now pulling till 80....different story

I have a cone filter "Poor Man's Intake" and you can't hear it unless you floor it. So if you're driving at 70mph in 4th or 5th gear and just cruising, you won't even know it's there.

Don't worry about the noise. Like everyone else said only noise is at WOT, but you will never get tired of the sound.
