Pics Of My Wrecked Max

Just posted some pics of my MAX on my web page. DO you guys think it's a loss only had 143,000 miles on her.

Another thing can't get the sucker to start. I turn the ignition and all I get is a noise coming from near the Tranny?

Damn, the front is pretty messed up, although not too bad... did the Engine get Damaged?

Just from the looks of it, it looks like that would cost you atleast $1000

No apparent engine damage. Gonna need a new radiator though. Can't get it started I don't know if there is a safety feature that has to be reset after an accident or what but I've been trying to figure it out for two days.

Wifey was driving on a four way street she had the green light and the guy was turning left from the opposite lane(he was supposed to yield) he waited till she was almost under the light and pulled out in front of her. He was in a Grand Am guess he didn't think the MAX was that quick.

It doesn't look like it would be totaled. Avg retail from NADA is $5,455 and high is $6,455 (St. Mary's, GA and 142,000 miles) You need a new bumper, lights, new hood, fenders maybe unless they can straighten it, radiator, paint, and labor. Hopefully no engine damage and no frame damamge. Some parts can come from another Max that was rear ended and it's front end is alright, or you can go after market with the parts - minus the hood. Keep the hood oem 'cause aftermarket doesn't "fit" right all of the time. You are also looking at about a week without it once it's in the shop while the parts come in and they put it all back together.

I feel your pain man
I lost my 95 SE that way (totaled by 8,000+ damage)

from the looks it doesn't look bad. however, with these types of accidents where the whole front ends shifts frame damage can be an issue.

you may even need a new radiator support. if your radiator is screwed, you may even need a new condensor. everything starts to add up.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me... car is in the shop for 3 weeks with an estimated damage at 4.7k including labor. Didn't get a total and the bastards wouldn't repaint the whole car just the part that was damaged... stupid insurance fraud rules

Now i'm stuck with a Mitsubishi Lancer and I got a speeding ticket yesterday! Oh well, I guess thats what I get for driving the car like it isnt mine.

Insurance Co. gave the OK to the body shop to start th repairs. THe estimate was $3295. Now I went to check and see how long it would take to fix and the guy sai they found more damage that wasn't visible with the fenders and bumper on. So now everything is on hold till the Insurance Company gets back in contact with the bodyshop. From the looks of it the bumper mounts (I think thats what they were) one of them is smashed in. Under the fender the frame is slightly bent. I am just hoping that they can get me back on the road. The guy kept going on and on about how good the engine sounds. I just want my car back the way it was till then I'm stuck with a Mitsubishi Lancer!!!!!!!

Mine is $500, but the accident wasn't my wifes fault so I won't have to pay anything.

Thats too bad. Was a nice looking car. Well if you can, try to get it totaled and get the value of the car. If you plan on going the totaled route, take it to a bodyshop and let them know when they are taking estimates, that your wanting the car totaled so they give better estimates in your favor. I believe if the repair cost of the car is around ~60 to 75% cost of the cars value, it will be cost ineffective to fix and your insurance company will total it. Goodluck.
